Wireless and LAN

It is interesting to think the way office networks worked in olden era before the introduction of wireless networks. That time the only option to
connect computers in an office is via Ethernet cables. Only traditional LANs worked that time. It was a hard time for network administrators to handle the bundle of cables which connect network router and computers in the office. If you own a traditional LAN network, you know the difficulty in handling entire Ethernet cables which connect computers.

After the introduction of wireless technology, this issue is over. We can connect office computers to the Internet using wireless router. Wireless router helps to connect multiple computer wirelessly. So data transfer and Internet sharing becomes hassle-free. Introduction of 802.11n standard ensures almost equal speed of data transfer via Wi-Fi compared to traditional LAN cables. Introduction of MIMO technology ensures further improvements in wireless speed and bandwidth.

One of the major issues with wireless networking was security. It is true that wireless is more vulnerable to intrude. However, many secure wireless encryptions are introduced and implemented to reduce the risk.
