It is not easy to determine the origin and the cause of fire. Many consider this task as formidable. The attempt to understand the cause of fire,
it is important to find out about the car which has been damaged in the accident. When investigating car fire it becomes important to get to know the make and the material of the car. Along with this the ignition temperature, the point of melting and the flash point are all required to find the origin of the flame. Along with this it is also essential to know how recently the car has been used. A hot engine is easier to get burnt down than a cold one. In addition to this the flame spreads quickly when the engine is hot.

The most disarming aspect of fire is that it destroys everything. Due to this finding the origin of the fire becomes difficult. However, some evidence can be extracted from every crime scene. This is also applicable for the fire scene. The investigators get to find some clues which lead to the conviction of the responsible person.

The first objective of vehicular fires investigation is to find out whether the fire was accidental or arson. The job of the investigator is to find theories to build facts and get the truth. Without proper facts it is not possible to determine the liability of the responsible person. This is the reason, it is important to hire experts to investigate the crime scene for solid clues and evidence.

Complications occur due to the engulfing nature of the element. Moreover, the fire service professionals destroy the remaining evidence while they try to extinguish the flames. Due to this the evidence gets scattered everywhere and the crime scene gets compromised. The investigators find the clues to prepare the entire picture. Mostly, the fire starts in the engine compartment and spreads through the other parts.

Different types of crime scenes require different method of collecting evidence. There are numerous causes of fire break out. Oil, gasoline or antifreeze anything can start the fire to spread through the body of the car. Each one of the scenes requires different type of evidence collecting methods.

The job of the fire investigator begins with identification. The investigator is required to identify the area from where the evidence can be extracted. This may not be the interior of the car. The clues may be found near the accident scene. Due to this reason the investigator must observe the scene first.

After observing the scene the process of evidence collection begins. Photographing the scene is an important way of preserving evidence. Apart from this there are other ways of collecting evidence. Preparing sketches of the crime scene is another method of preserving evidence. Videotaping the crime scene is also an important process of collecting evidence.

While investigating the crime scene it is important to consider several aspects. The weather condition is one of the most essential aspects which every crime scene investigator needs to consider. Once everything is settled and all the evidence is collected, the next job of the investigator is to evaluate the evidence.

Time to Think about Time

This is a guest post by Isabella . The Millennium Bug seems like a long, distant memory, but in the late 1990s, the Y2K bug was sending fear and panic among network administrators, governments and businesses alike. Cash machines were expected to start dishing out dollars like fruit machines, high interest current accounts would empty, planes would fall from the sky and the world was going to plunge back into the dark ages, as every computer system failed. Okay, things didn’t seem to work out to be that bad. Few if any major computer meltdowns occurred, and the world moved on. The threat of the Millennium Bug was quite simply caused by a lack of foresight by computer manufacturers and programmers. Many computer programs only bothered to store the year in two decimal places, which meant that come the year 2000, a lot of timestamps would go from 99 to 00, essentially making the computer believe it was the year 1900. The debate was never settled whether the Y2K bug was just a damp sq...
