The first objective of vehicular fires investigation is to find out whether the fire was accidental or arson. The job of the investigator is to find theories to build facts and get the truth. Without proper facts it is not possible to determine the liability of the responsible person. This is the reason, it is important to hire experts to investigate the crime scene for solid clues and evidence.

Complications occur due to the engulfing nature of the element. Moreover, the fire service professionals destroy the remaining evidence while they try to extinguish the flames. Due to this the evidence gets scattered everywhere and the crime scene gets compromised. The investigators find the clues to prepare the entire picture. Mostly, the fire starts in the engine compartment and spreads through the other parts.

Different types of crime scenes require different method of collecting evidence. There are numerous causes of fire break out. Oil, gasoline or antifreeze anything can start the fire to spread through the body of the car. Each one of the scenes requires different type of evidence collecting methods.

The job of the fire investigator begins with identification. The investigator is required to identify the area from where the evidence can be extracted. This may not be the interior of the car. The clues may be found near the accident scene. Due to this reason the investigator must observe the scene first.

After observing the scene the process of evidence collection begins. Photographing the scene is an important way of preserving evidence. Apart from this there are other ways of collecting evidence. Preparing sketches of the crime scene is another method of preserving evidence. Videotaping the crime scene is also an important process of collecting evidence.

While investigating the crime scene it is important to consider several aspects. The weather condition is one of the most essential aspects which every crime scene investigator needs to consider. Once everything is settled and all the evidence is collected, the next job of the investigator is to evaluate the evidence.
