4 Reasons a Furnished Apartment Isn't the Best for Your Vacation

A furnished or a serviced apartment is one of the more talked about accommodation option when traveling. It is considered as good as a hotel but is cheaper than one. Sounds good to be true, doesn't it? It's because it is. While it is true that a furnished apartment is cheaper than a hotel, it is not necessarily better. There are some cases where staying at a hotel is a cheaper way to spend your trip.

  1. Short Duration of Stay

Staying in furnished apartment is an excellent choice if you'll be staying for about a month or at least two weeks. If you're on a business trip, for example, you can't stay in a hotel for several weeks. Your expenses will go through the roof, unless everything is funded by your company. However, if you're just visiting for a few days, a hotel might be the cheaper option.

  2. Leaving Home Behind

Furnished apartments give you a sense of home. It is nice if you want to cook your own food, do your own laundry, and such; which is, again, only possible if you're staying for quite a while. If your trip is for the purpose of escaping the worries back home, however, a hotel would do you better. The moment you walk into a hotel room, you are reminded that you're somewhere else now; somewhere else where you can actually have fun. If you want to forget home, even for just a few days, book a hotel room instead of a furnished apartment.

  3. A Full Vacation Experience

Vacations are for fun, excitement, and a little bit of luxury. Who hasn't dreamt of sitting on the beach sipping piña coladas? If you want a full vacation experience, hotels are the way to go. Better yet, go for bed and breakfast so you're forced to soak in the culture of the place you're visiting. Furnished apartments are also good, but it is a taste of home that you agreed to leave the moment you stepped on a plane.

  4. Not Willing to Pay High Deposits

If you'd rather save your money for random expenses throughout the trip, then you can  settle for a bed and breakfast or a hotel. Furnished apartments can come cheap in the  long run, but some landlords require at least a month's stay of safety deposit. Most may even require three months, depending on what's allowed in the state or city.

When thinking about accommodation expenses, always remember to look down the road. Hotels may be more expensive in the long run, but they are cheaper for really short stays. Serviced apartments are cheaper for long stays but the safety deposits are
something to keep in mind.

Also remember that the prices change depending if it's peak season or not. To stay updated, look online for accommodation options. You can compare prices through online brochures, or ring hotels up and see if they have any specials going on. This goes
the same for serviced apartments.

The Concepts of Social Networking in Today's World

In today’s high tech world, networking occurs as much on computers as in “real life” social situations. Social media has opened up a vast new frontier for people to connect with others. Before the advent of social media, people generally networked at social gatherings like mixers, fundraising galas and similar events. Of course, such “face-to-face” networking is still important and common, but social media allows possibilities that did not exist before. One of the problems with older networking models is that often the same people showed up at all the events. The percentage of the population that is active in community events tends to be rather low. On the other hand, almost everyone these days uses social media. Twitter and Google+ also have large numbers of active users that cross all demographic categories. ...
