Methods & Types of Offset Printing Press

A printing press is a device that is used to print an image onto a surface like cloth or paper. This printing is carried out using ink that sticks to the surface and frame or plate that contains the original image which is to be printed onto the surface. Printing press is one of the most valuable inventions in human history and the Heidelberg offset press is one of the best machines in this category.

Various methods of offset printing
  1. Blanket to blanket: This system consists of two blanket cylinders and there are no impression cylinders used in this process. Through this type of printing, the paper is passed in between the two cylinders and both of the sides can be printed at the same time. This system is efficient as both sides of paper are covered in a single process and both the cylinders act as impression cylinder for the other.

  2. Variable size printing: Offset printing consumables like the inserts, cassettes and removable printing units are used when one side or both sides need to be printed.

  3. Blanket to steel: This system consists of both the plate and cylinder. The pressure applied to both the layers is quite accurate and the pressure applied is very slight. The cylinder presses the substrate when it comes in contact with it. This is mostly used when a single colour is to be used while printing.

  4. Dry offset printing: A plate which already has all the patterns on it is used. This plate is not used on the substrate directly. The rubber blanket only comes in direct contact with the substrate.

  5. Keyless offset: The ink which is left as residue after each process of printing is cleared off. Fresh ink is used for each printing process and this system is mostly used for newspapers.

Types of an offset press

There are several components of an offset printer and all the parts of the Heidelberg offset press are the best. The perfecting press can print on both the sides and is known as the duplex press. It is faster and much more efficient when compared to numerous other printing systems. It can print only in a single pass as the machine is branded.

Duplicators

These are lithographic presses and are of good quality and also produce image or text in only a single colour or two colours. Many manufacturers have created popular models for these devices. These devices are known for their speed. It is quite quick to print and also create numerous impressions of characters in a second.

Printing-inking system

This system is made up of many systems and the dampening, inking and plate systems all are used. Offset printing consumables are present in plenty in this device. A combination of numerous systems makes this system quite efficient and allows it to deal with each type of system. It is necessary to follow all the above-mentioned processes and then the blanket system is also implemented. Without the blanket system, it cannot be referred to as an offset system.

The Concepts of Social Networking in Today's World

In today’s high tech world, networking occurs as much on computers as in “real life” social situations. Social media has opened up a vast new frontier for people to connect with others. Before the advent of social media, people generally networked at social gatherings like mixers, fundraising galas and similar events. Of course, such “face-to-face” networking is still important and common, but social media allows possibilities that did not exist before. One of the problems with older networking models is that often the same people showed up at all the events. The percentage of the population that is active in community events tends to be rather low. On the other hand, almost everyone these days uses social media. Vast reach of social networking According to the latest stats, Facebook alone has more than 900 million active users worldwide with the number continuing to grow. Twitter and Google+ also have large numbers of active users that cross all demographic categories. ...
