Organise your home in just two days!

There’s no doubt that there are many, many reasons to get your home organized into a spick and span living place. It’s ideal to prevent it becoming so in the first place, but with the pace of life and family demands it can be perfectly easy to chuck those shoes into a pile on the stairs rather than allocate them neatly in the closet. While no-one will judge you for a bit of time-saving every day, you should make an effort to haul your home back into line every so often. Luckily we have all the tips you need to get you started!

Firstly, whilst having a cluttered house is unpleasant, it’s also unfortunately true that cleaning it is even more unpleasant. So maximum input is required in order to get the job done as soon as possible. Before you even lift one finger, make a plan. Having a detailed inventory
of your house will help you decide what’s essential and what’s not – and will also demonstrate just how much junk you have managed to accumulate! Somehow, seeing it down on paper is more shocking than the reality of living with it all as the eye becomes accustomed easily.

So once you have your list, decide exactly what you need and what you don’t – and then GET RID of stuff that you don’t need. It can be donated, sold or even just plain thrown away, but the trick is to do it right there and then because if you leave it you may find the temptation to keep it ‘just in case’ becomes overwhelming and you will be back where you started before you know it.

Places for specific activities such as offices, games rooms and utility rooms will need an approach all of their own. You will need to come up with individual ideas for these places to keep on top of their unique needs. A surprisingly simple way to de-clutter is to just find better ways of organizing yourself. It may be easier to fling those hair grips into the nearest drawer, but if you take a minute to choose a neat pot or tub with a lid then you have a go-to place every time and you will always know where they are.

An inevitable by-product of having a clearout is that you will come across items that you are genuinely unsure whether to keep or not. Whether it’s a pile of newborn babygros or a spare hammer that’s never been used, you may need some more time to make your decision. For exactly this reason designate yourself a ‘clutter corner’. Simply fling anything that you aren’t sure of into the corner – and it can safely be left to deal with another day.

Before you begin de-cluttering a room, make a careful note of its weak points. It might be window ledges, unused shelves or a table hidden out of sight that’s become a junk mountain. Tackle these specifically and make a note as you do so how much you are hating it – so that you don’t let the clutter build up again!

But remember – you are only de-cluttering. You are not trying to make your home a perfect place. So don’t strive for perfection because this is a waste of time and energy, just do what is necessary in order to have a clean and tidy home. Then aim to keep right on top of it by regularly doing small bits of cleaning each day. By following this method you should find that no more than 20 minutes per day keeps even a large house in neat order.

iPhone sales help fuel worldwide smartphone numbers

There are nearly 150 million smartphones out there in the world, according to new figures. Thanks to record breaking sales figures by Apple for the iPhone 4S by the end of 2011 there was almost a 50% increase in the number of devices up on the previous year. The research by Gartner Inc. claims the figures rose during the final quarter of 2011 thanks to the 30 million plus iPhone 4S' sold by Apple. The results led to Apple becoming the third largest vendor of mobile phones in the world. They also became the top smartphone vendor, with nearly a quarter of global sales in the fourth quarter. Over the rest of 2011, Apple took a fifth of the share of the smartphone market. The UK and wider Western Europe along with North America were the driving forces for the figures, says Gartner. Up until the launch of the iPhone 4S sales were a little slow. Suddenly the spiked as we all ran out to buy the new device. Worldwide, mobile device sales figures reached 476.5 million in the fourth q...

The Concepts of Social Networking in Today's World

In today’s high tech world, networking occurs as much on computers as in “real life” social situations. Social media has opened up a vast new frontier for people to connect with others. Before the advent of social media, people generally networked at social gatherings like mixers, fundraising galas and similar events. Of course, such “face-to-face” networking is still important and common, but social media allows possibilities that did not exist before. One of the problems with older networking models is that often the same people showed up at all the events. The percentage of the population that is active in community events tends to be rather low. On the other hand, almost everyone these days uses social media. Vast reach of social networking According to the latest stats, Facebook alone has more than 900 million active users worldwide with the number continuing to grow. Twitter and Google+ also have large numbers of active users that cross all demographic categories. ...
