Trivandrum is the capital city of Kerala, southern state in India, one of the most popular tourist destination in India. Major attractions of Kerala are backwaters, hill stations, forests and beaches.
Just like other parts of Kerala, Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram (Malayalam name) is also blessed with beautiful beaches. This article covers the most famous beaches in Trivandrum.

  1. Kovalam Beach

    Kovalam Beach is one of most popular beach in Kerala located within 15 km from Trivandrum. If you visit Thiruvanathapuram for the first time, you must visit Kovalam beach. Kovalam got its attention in tourism industry in the seventies by the large visit of western tourists.

  2. Shanghumugham Beach

    After Kovalam Beach, Shanghumugham attracts a large portion of tourists. Shanghumugham Beach is situated within 8km from Trivandrum city. When you reach Shanghumugham, a sculpture of Jalakanyaka welcomes you. Shanghumugham Beach also have religious importance too. It is a major spot in Trivandrum where Hindus perform Bali Tharpanam.

  3. Veli Beach and Tourist village

    Veli beach is situated within 10 km from Trivandrum City.
