There is a difference in configuring USB modem and broadband modem. In USB modem, we need to install a driver before connecting the modem to Internet. In DSL broadband modem, there is no need of driver. We can directly access the web based setup page of the modem and start configuration process. USB modem needs different type of installation depends on the Operating systems running on computer. In DSL broadband modem we do not need to worry much about the OS version running on computer.
