The role takes care of the content being posted on these sites. Social media manifests itself in different forms that include forums, blogs, wikis, Internet forums and social bookmarking. As a SMM, you will be required to regularly update the Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn pages of your client company, and populate it with appropriate content. This content might be written status, photos, videos and audio as well. Before that, increasing the reach of the brand in forms of increased likes and followers is also the responsibility of social media manager.

For becoming a successful social media manager, the first requirement is to have an early adopter attitude and a passion for social media channels. Social media is constantly evolving and hence, to stay at the top of the changes, you should read analysis, theories, and opinions on social media. Another most important requirement is the ability to write and write well. The rate of engagement with audience is dependent on how interestingly you are able to present the content. Designing a strategy for these campaigns, designing content and other promotional material is what you will be doing in this capacity. A sound technical base with grasp of HTML, CSS, Javascript and other internet/networking related protocol is highly desirable in addition to outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. 3. Community Manager

A community manager is responsible for creating, and managing a community on a specific social media platform or multiple platforms. He or she initiates a conversation and steers the ongoing discussion in the right direction. As a community manager you also will have to make sure that the discussion board remains free from trolls and inflammatory comments. You will also be responsible for exploring emerging platforms to grab on potential opportunities. All social media agencies, and IT companies like Capegemini and Kreata Global are the biggest brands hiring community managers.
